First visit

What happens, the first time you come in.

A first visit at Saisons takes sixty minutes. About a third of that is conversation — what brings you in, what you have tried, what you would like to be different in a couple of months and beyond. The rest is hands-on assessment and treatment.

Before you arrive

There will be no need to undress; loose, comfortable clothing is ideal. You can bring water, a notebook, anything that helps you feel settled. Street parking is available on Oak Bay Avenue, and the clinic is accessible from the street (note that the clinic is up a flight of stairs — if stairs are a barrier, write to me first).

The work itself

You will lie on the treatment table face up for most of the session. The work is gentle and slow. If anything is uncomfortable or you would like to pause, you can say so at any moment, and we will adjust.

For sensory-aware visits

The clinic is set up to be low-stimulation by default. Warm lighting, quiet room, no surprise music, scents kept minimal. If you are autistic, ADHD, anxious, or sensitive to sensory input, none of that is unusual here. If specific accommodations help — a longer first conversation, a regulating object, a support person in the room — please mention it when you book or when you arrive. Animals are a special case, and we can only accept guide animals unless agreed otherwise.

After your session

Most people leave feeling more settled and relaxed. When stress has been running high for a long time, that relaxation can surface a tiredness that was already there but was being masked.

It's like we removed the espresso from your coffee.

That tiredness is not a side effect — it is the system finally being able to rest. As you rest, muscle tone tends to normalize on its own. From there, either things return to better balance by themselves and symptoms ease, or we have created the conditions for the next session to do more: a calm body holds change better than a braced one.

Fees & insurance

The first session is $185 (60 min). Follow-up sessions are $170 at 60 minutes, with shorter sessions also available. All fees include GST. I provide receipts for extended health insurance — most BC plans that list 'Osteopathy' will cover sessions; please confirm specifics with your provider.

If you would like to ask first

Some patients want to talk briefly before booking. You can write to lucas@saisonsclinic.ca and I will reply within a day or two.
